Kaizer Chiefs Coach Take Responsibility For Loss Against Orlando Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs coach, Steve Komphela, has taken full responsibility for the Glamour Boys' 2-0 defeat against arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates, in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 on Saturday.

Speaking on Kaizer Chiefs' official website, Komphela believed that his team dominated in the Soweto Derby, despite the score-line.

"We controlled 90 percent of the game, but got punished with the 10 percent," he said.

He lamented his team's failure to take their scoring opportunities, which saw Pirates inflict a 2-0 defeat, following a second-half brace from Tendai Ndoro.

The loss means Chiefs exit the Nedbank Cup and have scored only two goals in the last five Soweto derbies against the Buccaneers failed to win any of them after regulation time.

"We should have won the game. But there is no 'should' or 'if' in football. We had enough chances to win. I take full responsibility," Komphela added.

Chiefs will now switch attention to their PSL match against Platinum Stars on Wednesday, March 9.
