AmaTuks Save Unbeaten Run, Polokwane Move Top

University of Pretoria 3-3 Black Leopards

University of Pretoria came from a three-goal deficit and secured a 3-3 draw against Black Leopards in an entertaining Motsepe Foundation Championship match on Friday.

Lidoda Duvha bagged the opener early on through Kiyaam Bull and added two more following the second stanza and were on course for victory.

AmaTuks pulled one back before full-time and two late strikes from Lulama Maqoko and Nhlanhla Zwane gave them the share of the spoils.

Pretoria Callies 1-2 Uthongathi FC

Pretoria Callies suffered a 2-1 loss to Uthongathi FC at the Lucas Moripe Stadium and remained in the bottom-two on the table.

Goals in the second stanza from Falakhe Tshanini and Fezile Gcaba steered the Cane Cutters back to winning ways and left the host in further disarray.

NB La Masia 0-0 Platinum City Rovers

Platinum City Rovers picked up a crucial point in their fight against relegation after holding NB La Masia to a goalless draw at the Wits Football Stadium in Braamfontein.

La Masia came off a loss to Cape Town Spurs in their last match whereas Rovers played to a stalemate against Pretoria Callies.

Magesi FC 2-1 Hungry Lions FC

Hungry Lions FC failed to extend their advantage at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table following a 2-1 defeat against Magesi FC on Saturday.

Olwethu Ncube was on target for Di Tau before efforts from Kagiso Selemela and Raymond Maluleke guided the host to maximum points in the end.

As a result, Lions have slipped to second spot on the log while Magesi FC have climbed up to eighth position.

Sunday, 23 October

Polokwane City 2-1 JDR Stars

Polokwane City moved to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with a hard-fought 2-1 win over JDR Stars in the only match on Sunday.

Rise and Shine raced to a two-goal lead before the end of the first half, as Khomotjo Lekoloane set the tone before the second followed whilst Ishmael Wadi got the Hammerboyz a consolation late on.

Stars, meanwhile, find themselves ninth position heading into the midweek fixtures.
