Baroka Drop Out Of Promotion Spots, Orbit Remain Top

Wednesday, 14 February

Baroka 1-1 Platinum City Rovers

Baroka dropped out of the promotion places after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Platinum City Rovers on Wednesday afternoon at Global Stadium.

An own goal by Kagiso Selemela gave City Rovers the lead within the first seven minutes but Siyabonga Mtombeni levelled matters for Bakgaga just before the interval.

Dan Malesela's charges dropped down to fourth on the log, two points off third spot and Platinum City dropped down to second-from-bottom.

Black Leopards 0-1 Pretoria Callies

Pretoria Callies steered away from the drop zone after edging Black Leopards 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

The win took the Romans up to 12th on the table, two points clear of the relegation zone while Leopards dropped down to ninth.

Marumo Gallants 1-0 Venda Football Academy

Marumo Gallants moved out of the relegation zone after edging Venda Football Academy 1-0 in the Limpopo derby on Wednesday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Thapelo Dhludhlu scored the all important goal for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa just before the half-hour mark.

Mpho Maleka's charges moved up to 14th on the table, just a point out of the relegation zone while Venda remained at the bottom of the log.

Tuesday, 13 February

Casric Stars 3-3 Maritzburg United

Casric Stars missed the chance to get closer to the promotion pack after playing to a draw against Maritzburg United in a six-goal thriller on Tuesday afternoon at Giyani Stadium.

United got an early goal but Decide Chauke equalised for Stars on 23 minutes and Tlhalefang Kgabane quickly gave the hosts the lead on the half-hour mark.

The Team of Choice equalised with 17 minutes to go and it was Casric who took the lead again in stoppage time from an own goal but they could not get the three points after Maritzburg levelled matters immediately from the restart.

United found themselves lying 11th on the table while Casric had to settle for seventh spot.

JDR Stars 0-2 Magesi

Magesi remained in the hunt for promotion after they re-opened their season with a 2-0 win over JDR Stars on Tuesday afternoon at Giant Stadium.

Mcedi Vandala broke the deadlock for Dikwena on the stroke of half-time and  Wonderboy Makhubo secured the three points with the  second goal just after the hour-mark.

The Limpopo side climbed up to third on the log, three points behind leaders Orbit College while JDR slipped down to eight on the table.

Orbit College 1-0 Milford

Orbit College remained at the top of the table after edging Milford 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Olympia Park.

Orbit retained their two-point lead at the top of the standings while Milford dropped down to 13th, just a point above the drop zone.

Upington City 1-1 Hungry Lions

Upington City and Hungry Lions' promotion hopes were dented after they played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday afternoon at Dicky Jacobs Stadium.

Muzomuhle Khanyi opened the scoring for Lions within the first ten minutes but Bokang Mokwena levelled matters for Bafana Ba Gucci 11 minutes into the second stanza.

Upington and Ditau Dia Rora remained equal on points on the table in fifth and sixth spot respectively.

Monday, 12 February

NB La Masia 1-2 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria re-opened their campaign on a winning note after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over NB La Masia on Monday afternoon at Dobsonville Stadium

La Masia broke the deadlock midway into the first stanza but Kamohelo Pheeane levelled matters for AmaTuks early in the second stanza.

The Tshwane side snatched the winner with eight minutes to go, as they remain in second spot on the table, just a point behind leaders Orbit College.

Daine Klate's troops, meanwhile, had to settle for tenth spot on the table.
