Teams: Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila v Chippa United
Date: 08 May 2021
Venue: Free State Stadium
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila and Chippa United will both be competing in their first major cup final on Saturday when they battle it out for the Nedbank Cup title.
The match gets underway at 18h00.
TTM come into the final with a string of impressive scalps in their wake. The top-flight newcomers eliminated SuperSport United, Swallows FC, Black Leopards, and Mamelodi Sundowns on their way to the final.
In addition, TTM's confidence should be overflowing after shocking Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, Chippa have similar ambitions as they are also fighting for their first major cup in the club's history.
The Eastern Cape outfit have arguably enjoyed an easier run to the final, knocking out Cape Town City, Free State Stars, Richards Bay, and Pretoria Callies, but are in fine form after beating Chiefs and Stellenbosch in the league.
Chilli Boys coach Vladislav Heric is a former TTM mentor, which may give his charges a bit of an advantage over Vhadau Vha Damani.
In their two prior meetings, Chippa won 2-0 in February 2019, before a 1-1 draw in November last year, both at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
