DStv Premiership Starting XI: Marumo Gallants v Kaizer Chiefs 26 September 2021

DStv Premiership Starting XI: Marumo Gallants v Kaizer Chiefs 26 September 2021

Marumo Gallants FC host Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership encounter on Sunday at Peter Mokaba Stadium hoping to inflict more pain on Amakhosi.

Teams: Marumo Gallants v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 26 September 2021

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Time: 17h00

The home side come into this match on the back of a 1-0 loss to Maritzburg United while Sunday's opponents Chief's come off a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Royal AM.

So far this season Gallants are winless having played three league games, drawing one and losing two and currently occupy 16th spot on the league table with one point. They did however perform brilliantly in the CAF Confederation Cup when they overturned a first leg 2-1 home loss to Equatorial Guinea's Futuro Kings to run out 3-0 winners in the return leg to win 4-2 on aggregate.

Chiefs have not fared a whole lot better in the league having and are 13th on the table with four points from four games thanks to one win and a draw.

Stuart Baxter will also be without Samir Nurkovic, Phathutshedzo Nange and Kgaogelo Sekgota for this evening's clash.

Sunday's match has the potential to be an interesting one as Gallants are still feeling aggrieved having lost to Maritburg by letting in a goal after 90 minutes in injury-time to lose 1-0 while Chiefs will be desperate for a win after their humiliating defeat to Royal AM last week.
