Not many teenagers can boast the prestige of making their full CAF Champions League and Premiership debuts for Mamelodi Sundowns within days of each other; however, Asekho Tiwani has grabbed his opportunity with both hands.
Not much was said about the 18-year-old when he was signed from Sekhukhune United at the start of the season.
However, in the absence of regular Sundowns left-back who was on duty for Bafana Bafana in AFCON 2025 qualifiers, Tiwani grabbed his opportunity with both hands.
He featured for 90 minutes in Sundowns' 4-0 win over Mbabane Swallows in the CAF Champions League and again in their 2-0 Premiership win over SuperSport United, leaving Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi in awe.
"I give praise to God for the talent and thank you to the technical team for the belief and the opportunity to make my league debut," he said via the club's media department.

"There are many things that I still need to improve on; however, I am happy with my performance. I trust that the coaches will assist me to improve. It takes a lot of commitment, courage, discipline and being a great human being. We are not only representing ourselves but the fans who come in numbers and our families. We play for them but most importantly we play for the badge. We have a responsibility to represent it in the best way possible, he added.
Manqoba Mngqithi spoke glowingly of the teenage sensation after their win against SuperSport.
"Tiwani is another bright, young talent in South Africa. I am sure a lot of people were surprised when we signed him," he told journalists.
"He can play both at centre back and fullback. [He is] technically sound, [has a] good engine, good personality, hard-working young boy and the future for that boy is bright."
