There's less than 10 days before the new season gets underway and Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be dealing with the possibility of losing a player who was a star performer at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Betway Premiership champions returned to training this week after competing at the Club World Cup in June. The club has been preparing for the new campaign with training sessions at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with construction believed to be happening at Chloorkop, their headquarters.

One of the star performers at the Club World Cup was Brazilian midfielder Lucas Ribeiro Costa, who has been a noticeable absentee in the social media content Sundowns has been posting since the players returned.
While Ribeiro has been linked with Egyptian club Pyramids FC, who are reigning African champions, Soccer Laduma understands that the player has set his sights on Europe, where he previously played.
According to sources, Sundowns have no intention of selling the 26-year-old to a Champions League rival, so there is a better chance of him moving to Europe or Brazil, where there is believed to also be interest.

Soccer Laduma understands there has been interest from various parts of Europe, including Turkey and France, and Sundowns are open to letting the player go to take his career to the next level.
Soccer Laduma made an effort to get a comment from Sundowns on Ribeiro, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
