Mamelodi Sundowns are already making plans for next season and Soccer Laduma understands that they have made their intentions clear on securing the services of a key Stellenbosch FC defender.
Sundowns have announced that they will not be using the special transfer window which closes on June 10 to bring in new players into the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, but that does not mean that they won't be working behind the scenes to bolster the team for head coach Miguel Cardoso.

Soccer Laduma understands that Sundowns are ahead of Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and he could join the club after the Club World Cup for the 2025/26 campaign, as the Tshwane giants seek to challenge for top honours on the continent again.
Basadien, who is currently in the national team for the upcoming international friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique, was the player of the season at Stellenbosch and it's believed he is now open to a new challenge, with Gauteng calling his name.

Sundowns have identified him as a target and are believed to be favourites to get him on board and the experience he has gained on the continent with Stellies and Bafana Bafana puts him in a good position to join the Betway Premiership champions.
Sundowns, meanwhile, are expected to part ways with Terrence Mashego in the coming weeks.
