Mamelodi Sundowns have given an update on the progress of the club's marquee signing Bongani Zungu, who is itching to make his second debut for the club.
It has been almost a month since Sundowns announced the return of the 29-year-old to the club, having signed him on a free contract from French Ligue 2 club Amiens in August.
Having not had much of a pre-season as he was sorting out his future, it was always going to be a while before Zungu featured in Sundowns colours as he looks to get on par with the rest of his teammates in terms of fitness.
But now, the club's ambassador Tiyani Mabunda has given an update of the midfield maestro's progress at Chloorkop.
"Bongani Zungu is a Mamelodi Sundowns football player, announced just a few weeks ago. We really waiting to see him donning the jersey once again and its exciting that we (have) such capable and excellent players joining Mamelodi Sundowns and having him with his experience and his talent is really a blessing to have him in the setup.
"We are looking forward to unleashing yet another giant in South African football," he told media at the Carling Black Label Cup launch.
With Sundowns' congested fixture list, a second coming for the Duduza-born star could be on the horizon sooner than initially anticipated.
