Mamelodi Sundowns have made no secret of the fact that they're eyeing a new attacker, and it appears that a Bidvest Wits man has made it onto their list of potential targets.
Gift Motupa, who is the Clever Boys' top scorer in all competitions so far this season, is thought to have been it onto Masandawana's wishlist as Pitso Mosimane looks to freshen up his strikeforce, although it remains to be seen whether a deal could be done.
Wits will be reticent to even consider selling their most prolific striker as they go in chase of their second Absa Premiership title, especially not to one of their biggest challengers in their pursuit of another league trophy.
Motupa is still contracted to Wits beyond the end of the 2019/20 season, meaning that it would take a hefty offer from the Brazilians for Wits to look into the possibility of letting him leave, although Sundowns are not a team to be put off by financial demands.
Mosimane has previously spoken of his desire to bring in a new attacker in the near future, and with Knowledge Musona looking to be on the verge of joining KAS Eupen in Belgium, he may need to look a little closer to home if he's to do so.
With just under three weeks left of the January transfer window, speculation within the Premier Soccer League will be rife, and only time will tell whether Sundowns will make an offer for Motupa before the window slams shut.
