Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela believes the club should pursue the signing of Bongani Zungu, who could bring valuable experience and leadership to the team.
Zungu, a holding midfielder, parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of last season and is currently without a club.

Zungu, who was linked to Amakhosi in August 2022, returned from a stint in Europe to rejoin Masandawana, where he contributed to winning two league titles and the African Football League. Last season, the player known as 'Ben10' demonstrated his versatility by excelling both in midfield and defence.
The 31-year-old has been rumoured to be considering a return to Europe, with potential reunions with former coach Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Casablanca in Morocco also mentioned. With the arrival of coach Nasreddine Nabi and heightened expectations for a return to glory, Masilela, who was part of the last group of players to win silverware for Chiefs, believes Zungu's influence could be crucial, especially for the younger players.

"Obviously, Bongani Zungu, he has the experience. He has been overseas, he played for Sundowns, he won trophies and he has played for, I think at some point, he was at Rangers in Scotland, coached by Steven Gerrard," Masilela told SoccerBeats show on YouTube.
"So, he has got the experience and again I'll go back to the point and say, at Chiefs who is the senior player? He can assume that role of a senior player and try to guide the young ones and take the pressure off the young boys, you know. He's a standout name for me," Masilela added.
Chiefs, who are not participating in the MTN8 this season, will begin their campaign in September when they welcome Marumo Gallants FC in the Premiership. The addition of Zungu could provide the experience and stability needed to help the team achieve its goals.
