The insider added that Chiefs are prepared to 'fight' the German second tier club to land the signature of South African starlet Ime Okon.

"The scouts and recruiters have made their recommendations and Okon is one of the players who they have targeted and the football department and management know that. That is why it's believed that they will fight until the end to get him. The club is aware of the interest from other clubs both locally and in Europe but they are apparrently concentrating on what they can do to get the player and they are working hard on that. They will fight until the end," the source told Soccer Laduma.

Meanwhile, an insider close to Chiefs stated that at the moment they don't think it's just about money but also the player's desire on where he wants to play will contribute to the chosen move.

"It's understandable there is interest from Europe and every player wants to play in Europe but there is also the personal desire and that's what Chiefs are also believed to he hoping on as the player has supposedly shown the desire to don the black and gold. So it's not just about the money involved but also the desire. Chiefs are hoping that will also work in their favour though moneywise they are also prepared to fight all the way with the budget they are believed to have set up for this coming season," the second source revealed.

With Okon's contract with SuperSport United expiring on 30 June, it's believed that Matsatsantsa a Pitori are looking at no less than R5 million compensation fee for developing the player from their junior ranks.

Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for official comment on the situation but there was no response at the time of publishing this story.
