Njabulo Blom has returned to Major League Soccer side St. Louis City SC following the completion of his season-long loan with Kaizer Chiefs, but the midfielder’s future in the United States remains uncertain.

Siya sources close to the situation have indicated to Soccer Laduma that while Blom is back at his parent club, it is not yet clear whether he features in the immediate plans of the technical team at St. Louis.
One of the key factors currently under consideration is whether the club will allocate its recently vacated international roster slot to accommodate the 25-year-old.
The spot opened up after Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam exercised their purchase option on Icelandic international Nökkvi Thórisson following a successful loan spell. This development theoretically paves the way for Blom to be registered again — but that decision is not yet set in stone.
Blom, who hails from Dobsonville, returned to the Amakhosi in September 2024, rejoining the club where he rose through the youth ranks and made his name in the top flight. His second spell with Chiefs culminated in Nedbank Cup success, adding silverware to his CV and reminding many of the qualities that once earned him a move abroad.
However, despite that productive stint, early indications are that Blom may not be in St. Louis City's first-team plans for the 2025 MLS campaign. Options reportedly being explored include another loan deal or even a potential buyout.
At this stage, the midfielder’s next move is far from confirmed, and clarity on his future could depend heavily on how St. Louis reshape their roster during the upcoming MLS window.
