As the PSL enters the off-season, coaching changes are underway, and speculation is mounting around Amir Abdou potentially stepping into the head coach role at one of the Betway Premiership clubs.
According to sources, the French tactician has emerged as one of the candidates at Marumo Gallants following the recent departure of Abdeslam Ouaddou, who had been instrumental in steering the club clear of relegation.

Ouaddou took over the reins at Gallants in March 2025, replacing Dan Malesela. Under his leadership, the team achieved notable victories, including reaching the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup and finishing clear of relegation in the league.
Despite these successes, Ouaddou confirmed his departure from the club over the weekend. However, the club stated they had yet to receive a formal resignation letter from him.
Meanwhile, Abdou – known for his tenure as the head coach of the Comoros national team – was recently in Mzansi where he spent some weeks.
His presence has sparked rumours about potential engagements within the PSL coaching landscape.
Given Gallants’ current vacancy and Abdou’s recent visit, it’s believed that discussions between the two parties could be underway.
Abdou’s coaching credentials include leading Comoros to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations appearance, showcases his ability to achieve significant milestones with limited resources.
