Amid swirling speculation that Nasreddine Nabi could part ways with Kaizer Chiefs after just one season at the helm, club Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior has offered clarity on the Tunisian's future in the wake of their Nedbank Cup triumph.

Nabi's debut campaign at Naturena has been a rollercoaster, with inconsistent results in the Betway Premiership raising eyebrows and fuelling talk that the club might opt for yet another coaching change.
But Saturday’s dramatic Nedbank Cup final victory not only ended an agonising nine-year trophy drought, it also appeared to buy Nabi some time — at least for now.
Speaking in an interview with 5FM, Motaung Junior was measured but firm when asked about the coach’s status.
“Of course he’s got another season after this with us now. At the same time also, like we do after every season, we sit down and review. We know that results in the league have been a bit inconsistent. We know we've just been able to achieve a record milestone.”
Nabi, who has often been scrutinised for his pragmatic style and his sometimes subdued touchline presence, has nonetheless managed to deliver silverware at a time when the club desperately needed a lift.

Motaung Junior made it clear that the focus has now shifted to the long-term project.
“With everything else, we're moving forward. We're planning the way forward. And we want to really savour this moment, to use this moment in a massive, positive way moving forward, and galvanise the supporters and galvanise the tech team, the players, the staff for the mission ahead,” he said.
“So we're just planning for the future.”
