Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr says the season has not quite gone according to plan so far; however, there are tangible changes taking place at Amakhosi under Arthur Zwane.

Since taking over the reins as the club's Sporting Director this season, Motaung Jr has really put his hand to the plough to restore Amakhosi to the glory days of old.
A new coach, new players, new sports scientists and even an upcoming new sponsor is amongst the things implemented by the former striker, and while the process is in motion, there are still a number of areas of concern for Amakhosi.
"I think you know, look according to the results, if you look at the log position it's not according to the plan we had, but I think everyone is very cognisant of fact the project began with a very deliberate approach. I think having a new coach, a new technical staff, a different high performance team which was addressing a big factor we had before, where our high performance and our fitness and level of intensity wasn't where we wanted it to be, and those are key factors that comes linking into your game model," he told Newzroom Afrika.
One of the positives for Motaung Jr has been the change of playing style under 10111, which has seen them return to the 'Chiefs way' as opposed to the more direct football played under Stuart Baxter last season.
"So, I think everyone can see last year, I know we were getting told we're playing helicopter football but none of those comments right now, you know, because we've laid the foundation for our patterns of play."
One big area of concern remains Chiefs' defensive frailties, which came under the spotlight when they were downed 4-0 by AmaZulu – their joint worst result of the season.
"If you look at the last two results, definitely unhappy. You can't concede goals at our level, just the way we have, [it's very concerning. Having said that, if you look at the top goalscorers' charts, we have a Kaizer Chiefs player amongst the top three. Defensively, we know we have really conceded a lot of goals it's not something that we are used to, and offensively we have created a massive amount of chances but if we had just taken chances that we created, there'd be a different story," he continued.
