Kaizer Chiefs Marketing & Commercial Director Jessica Motaung Appointed By CAF

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have announced that marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung has secured a role at the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).

Chiefs, who registered a 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night, called the media to Naturena to announce that Motaung will be part of the CAF Organising Committee for Women's Football for two years between 2022 and 2024.

Motaung will form part of a group of members who are trusted to grow women's football on the African continent.

Her appointment was confirmed by CAF Secretary General, Veron Mosengo-Omba, following Motaung's attendance at a Women's Football Taskforce Workshop organised by the continent's football governing body in 2019.

The committee Motaung is set to join will be chaired by Kanizat Ibrahim, the fifth vice president and the president of the Organising Committee for Women's Football of CAF.

Amakhosi chairman Kaizer Motaung said: "We are very proud of our Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung. We are happy to see one of our own grow and spread her wings in continental football. Being the only South African in the committee speaks volumes. It truly is a remarkable feat.

"We are confident she will add much value to CAF and women's football on the continent given her experience that spans over two decades. We have watched the growth of the game over the last number of years and Jessica's role will also help SAFA, PSL and Kaizer Chiefs as we look to move in the direction of expanding our ladies' participation in football."

Chiefs, meanwhile, have previously spoken about starting a women's team following the success of Mamelodi Sundowns' Ladies and it remains to be seen when the Soweto giants will get their team up and running.
