Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has offered a measured but optimistic assessment of his new signings following the club’s pre-season camp in the Netherlands, where a fresh-looking Amakhosi squad began laying foundations for the 2025/26 campaign.

Among the fresh faces that joined the camp were Nkanyiso Shinga, Ethan Chislett, Thabiso Monyane, and Portuguese striker Flavio Silva, all part of the club’s efforts to bolster the squad and improve on last season’s underwhelming finish.

“They need to fully gel with the group,” Nabi told the club's official website.

“However, they are all adapting nicely, and they start to understand what I expect from them. Our objective was to sign new players that will bring us to a higher level compared to last season.”

Nabi also reserved special praise for three exciting young prospects from the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy, Thulani Mabaso, Kabelo Nkgwesa, and Naledi Hlongwane – all of whom were included in the Netherlands tour. Hlongwane even grabbed a memorable match-winner against Dutch side PEC Zwolle during the camp.

“We don’t want to rush them,” Nabi said of the academy trio. “However, I am always willing to give maximum opportunities to young talents. If you are good enough, you are old enough to play. That’s my philosophy.”
