The exciting news for the Amakhosi faithful comes at a time when the supporters have also been expecting an announcement about new signings, which could take place before the upcoming Toyota Cup match against Tanzanian giants Young Africans on July 28.

The developments at the Soweto giants have also been welcomed by the club's former players and legends, such as Nhlanhla Kubheka, who are expecting better results and progress under newly appointed coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team.

"I suppose this was long overdue, because there has been a need for a change in the technical team of Kaizer Chiefs, and that's why I would like to first say congratulations to them, because I think they have made a good decision. The club has done well by going all out to get a coach that is highly qualified. From what I understand, all of them – he (Nabi) and his technical team – are very qualified coaches. I think it's a good move for them, and I wish them all the best moving forward," said former Chiefs defender Kubheka, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

"Having said that, I think we also need former (Chiefs) players to be part of that. We need them to be part of that technical team so that they can learn from the current coaching staff. That would also be helpful to the club in future, if they (Nabi and his technical team) leave at some point," he said.

One of the new signings for the Glamour Boys is Rushwin Dortley whose now former club Cape Town Spurs have confirmed his switch to Amakhosi, and Kubheka has given his seal of approval to the move.

"It's good for the youngster, he's going to learn at the club, and I wish him everything of the best as well. It's every player's dream, especially when you are a youngster who is playing football, to play for a club as big as Kaizer Chiefs. It's a good signing for the club, and he is going to grow there. We will see what's going to happen at the end of the day, but like I say, it's a good move," concluded Kubheka.
