For the last two seasons Chiefs have been courting the 24-year-old defender as first reported by the Siya crew.
Despite all their admiration for the player, Chiefs had to wait to get their man, which they have now finally managed after Cape Town Spurs announced his departure from the club on Thursday.
With the two teams having agreed terms for the South Africa player, the chances of Spurs parting ways with their homegrown talent on the cheap would be slim.
Now, well-placed sources have indicated that that Amakhosi forked out upwards of R6 million to land Dortley!
With this fee, Chiefs have gone against recent convention as the club have increasingly relied on acquiring free agents in the transfer market.
He becomes the club's third capture after Bongani Sam and Fiacre Ntwari, who are expected to be announced soon.
