Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung says the club’s recent Nedbank Cup triumph has reignited their hunger to compete for every trophy available, including continental honours in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Speaking at the Nedbank multipurpose court handover at Phulong Secondary School in Springs, Motaung reflected on the significance of the club’s first major silverware in a decade and how it has shifted the mindset within Naturena.
“Every trophy on offer is important for us, and defending this is definitely on our cards and making sure that we play for every trophy on the table,” she told journalists.

Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup victory not only ended a long drought but also secured their return to continental competition. The Soweto giants are set to face Kabuscorp SC of Angola in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup later this month.
“Also very important is us playing in CAF. We're excited to be back in the Confed Cup, and we look forward to our game in Angola, and we are asking our supporters both here in South Africa and continentally to support the team to succeed locally and internationally.”
Motaung’s comments come at a time when optimism is high around Chiefs’ prospects. The club has made strategic signings, including the return of Lebohang Maboe, and has started the domestic season strongly.
