Lazarous Kambole, James Kotei, Kearyn Baccus and Samir Nurkovic were all brought in at the start of the season and unveiled together, while Yagan Sasman followed soon afterwards – and four of those five went on to play some role, minor or major, in the club's impressive start to 2019/20.
While Nurkovic has been the standout performer so far, with 11 goals in 19 league games, Baccus has played 19 games in all competitions and also picked up his first goal in club colours early into his time at Naturena.
It's been more of a mixed bag for Sasman and Kambole, having been in and out of Middendorp's side, but Kotei's signing is one to be forgotten given the fact that he was released earlier this year without even making his Amakhosi debut.
Brylon Petersen, a talented young goalkeeper, was brought back to the club in the midst of a bit of a goalkeeping crisis and is yet to play, while Anthony 'Teddy' Akumu was an immediate replacement for Kotei and is seen as Willard Katsande's successor, but has seen limited gametime since his arrival in January.
