Chiefs To Challenge Pirates For Kruger Striker?

Chiefs To Challenge Pirates For Kruger Striker?

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - APRIL 10: Nasreddine Nabi (Kaizer Chiefs Coach) during the Nedbank Cup semi final Gauteng press conference at Nedbank Head Quarters on April 10, 2025

Competition for Kruger United striker Bright Ndlovu is heating up as two Gauteng clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs, are believed to have entered the race for the player.

Soccer Laduma had previously reported that Orlando Pirates were initially monitoring the forward. So, they now face additional competition for his signature.

Insiders have now indicated that Amakhosi are believed to have recently sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old in action, with at least one more club enquiring about the striker’s availability.

"I know there are two more teams enquiring about Bright (Ndlovu). Yes, Pirates were the first ones but now it's believed that there is Kaizer Chiefs and another team. He has been doing very well and that's why he is attracting interest from PSL teams at the moment. I am not sure of the other team but I know Chiefs are one of them," the Siya source stated.

However, a second insider suggested that Kruger United are in no rush to release Ndlovu as they focus on their promotion push. The team is vying for a spot in the Betway Premiership next season, either automatically or through the playoffs.

"They are one of the teams which could get promotion to the Betway Premiership from Motsepe Foundation Championship whether automatically or via the playoffs so for now despite interest and enquiries, they are not in a hurry because they may need those players if promoted. But as for interest in Ndlovu, it's there, " the second insider told the Siya crew.

Both Pirates and Chiefs are targeting striker reinforcements ahead of next season as the current campaign nears its end.

Soccer Laduma reached out to Kaizer Chiefs and Kruger United for comment, but no response had been received at the time of publishing.
