The story
Yusuf Maart completed his move to Austria, joining newly promoted Bundesliga outfit SV Ried on a two-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027, with an option to extend.
The 29-year-old midfielder was a key member of Chiefs' squad last season, having featured in 33 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and contributing three assists, as well as helping the club lift the Nedbank Cup title over fierce rivals, Orlando Pirates.
Maart broke his silence on the move to SV Ried in a farewell statement to Amakhosi, shared by his representative at P Management.
At the end of the statement, which included Maart's gratitude to the powers that be from Amakhosi and Sekhukhune United for allowing him to showcase his talent, Maart also showed love to the Khosi Nation.
Despite not being a fan-favourite for large parts of last season due to Amakhosi's inconsistent showings, particularly in the league, Maart did not overlook the passion shown by Chiefs' fans during his time at the Soweto giants.
"Most importantly, I want to thank the Amakhosi faithful – the fans. Your unwavering belief in us through both the triumphs and the challenges has been a constant source of motivation," read Maart's message to Amakhosi's fans.

Arguably, Maart's most important goal for the Glamour Boys came in the Nedbank Cup final against the Buccaneers in Durban.
His neat volley was enough to hand Amakhosi their first trophy in almost a decade, outlasting their Soweto rivals, 2-1.
