The story

Peter Shalulile made history over the weekend after becoming the all-time leading goal scorer in the Premier Soccer League, reaching a remarkable 130 goals.

The Namibian striker broke Siyabonga Nomvethe's long-standing record of 129 goals—which he had matched two weeks earlier—by netting the decisive goal in Mamelodi Sundowns' 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC on Saturday afternoon.

The historic goal came just before halftime at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town, as Shalulile calmly converted a penalty after being fouled inside the box.

In a video shared across Sundowns' social media channels, Shalulile's teammates came together to celebrate the Namibian sharp-shooter's milestone.

"I want to congratulate you on being the all-time goal scorer in the PSL. God is in the neighbourhood and he’s in control, congrats Papa!" said Teboho Mokoena.

"Congrats, Pietie, keep working hard and score more goals. It’s not the end, keep on scoring, Ka Bo Yellow," said Thapelo Morena, in the video, which included a montage of Sha-Sha’s recent goals for Masandawana.
