The story
Teko Modise is stylish and can effortlessly turn heads in a room with his bold fashion sense. He’s the type to look at a clothing item and immediately know how he’d style it.
When he got to see the new Mamelodi Sundowns jerseys launched by Puma for the FIFA Club World Cup, in collaboration with Kid Super, he was excited and gave Soccer Laduma his thoughts on each one.
The yellow jersey
“I think the jersey is daring, especially the colours on the bottom half of the jersey. There are quite a few players and I think it represents us as a Rainbow Nation. It’s the colourful cultures we have.
The reason I say it’s daring is because it reminds me of the tag we used to use back then of ‘Bafana by style’ .
We have style on the pitch and I also think the jersey represents that. It’s a jersey that will have people taking. It’s a beautiful jersey. I can’t wait to see Sundowns playing.
The blue jersey
“For me, I think it’s my best colour. I played for Mamelodi Sundowns using yellow. Yellow is the colour which represents the team, but I think this blue will do well, especially when people come to watch Sundowns playing or if they are chilling at home.
Football fans have evolved and they want to look good when they support their teams. With jerseys like these, it gives supporters an opportunity to do that.”
Which Puma jersey is your favourite?
“I’ve got three actually. The first one is the blue Sundowns jersey and then the yellow one. My third favourite is the Red Bull Salzburg jersey. They are definitely date night type of jerseys.”
Puma launched jerseys for Mamelodi Sundowns, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Al-Hilal, FC Salzburg, Palmeiras, and Monterrey
