The story

In the build up to Saturday's Soweto Derby, "Ama2k" took centre stage in the fixture's hype, with plenty of expectation from both sets of fans place on mercurial youngsters, Relebohile Mofokeng and Mduduzi Shabalala.

Orlando Pirates secured a thrilling 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in their showdown at FNB Stadium on Saturday, with Mofokeng winning a penalty in the dying moments before Patrick Maswanganyi converted it from the spot.

Despite Mofokeng's tireless efforts proving to be decisive on the day, it wasn't the easiest of afternoons for "iPresident Yama 2000" who was closely marked by Njabulo Blom and Inacio Miguel.

Shabalala on the other hand was hooked off in the 60th minute of the encounter, with the attacking midfielder struggling to impose himself against the in-form Sea Robbers.

With both Shabalala (21) and Mofokeng (21) highly regarded as bright prospects in the PSL, it warmed the hearts of many supporters to see them embracing each other and showing great sportsmanship after the full-time whistle was blown.

The duo do share a friendship off the pitch and have shared the change room at junior National Team level.

Pirates' nail-biting win over the Glamour Boys sees Jose Riveiro's troops maintain their spot in second place on the Betway Premiership table.

With the title race being more alive than it's been in a number of seasons and the Buccaneers remaining steadfast in their push for more trophies, the Happy People are firmly behind the Spanish mentor.

After Pirates' wins, Riveiro tends to head over to the stands to clap with the fans while they chant his name continuously and Saturday was no different.
