The story

Three-time CAF Champions League-winning coach Pitso Mosimane has a new book written about him by author Hosea Ramphekwa.

Ramphekwa took to his social media platforms to announce the book, with his statement reading,

"After years of tireless dedication, I'm proud to officially unveil my latest book, 'Pitso Mosimane: Cry Baby or Misunderstood Genius.' This insightful work offers a deep analysis of one of Africa's most decorated football coaches."

Born in Tzaneen, Ramphekwa has published four books to date, including "A YellowBone With A Black Heart" (2020), "Wait To Be Seated" (2017) and "Gifted, Hunted and Haunted" (2013)

As stated by Ramphekwa, his new book on the 60-year-old, "explores the routines, traits, tactical brilliance, strategic mindset, and sometimes-controversial personality traits that have shaped Pitso Mosimane's storied career."

"Whether you view him as overly emotional or tactically unparalleled, this book unpacks the complexities that make Mosimane a towering figure in African football," he added.

Pitso Mosimane has amassed an impressive 19 trophies across his coaching career in South Africa, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.

After serving in South Africa's 2010 FIFA World Cup backroom staff, he stepped into the head coach role for Bafana Bafana and has since evolved into one of Africa's most respected tacticians.

His success includes three CAF Champions League titles — one with Mamelodi Sundowns and two with Al Ahly — earning him CAF's Coach of the Year award in 2016.

The 59-year-old also lifted two trophies with SuperSport United, a staggering 11 with Sundowns, and added five more with Al Ahly.

Last year, Pitso was conferred with an honourary doctorate from the University of Johannesburg, celebrating his achievements and contribution to African football.

Now, Mosimane is focused on developing future talent through his Pitso Mosimane Youth Football project, aiming to inspire and shape the next generation of South African football stars.
