Ndlondlo Bids Heartfelt Goodbye To Boyhood Club

Following the confirmation of his exit from Orlando Pirates, midfielder Ndabayithethwa Phillip Ndlondlo posted a touching reflective post on Instagram to bid farewell to the club.

The story

Phillip Ndlondlo has shared an emotional farewell message to Orlando Pirates via Instagram following the club's official announcement of his departure on Wednesday evening.

The 30-year-old diminutive midfielder brings his three-year spell with the Soweto giants to an end, having contributed six goals and assists combined in 65 appearances.

The former Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu baller posted a gallery of snaps from his time at the Sea Robbers, attaching a lengthy message in his caption to thank Pirates chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza for helping him fulfil a childhood dream of representing the club.

"From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to take this opportunity and thank the Chairman amongst the chairman and the whole Orlando Pirates family for giving me the opportunity of fulfilling the dream I had as a young kid of playing for the biggest team in the country," read the intro to Ndlondlo’s message.

"It's not anyone that gets that opportunity and live that dream but I was one of the fortunate kids so I'm so grateful for all the platform that was offered to be to me able to achieve all the things I have accomplished and create the best memories with the best and special group that turned into brothers," added Ndlondlo, showing the utmost gratitude to Ezimnyama Ngenkani for time with the side.

Ndlondlo went on to thank the Pirates employees behind the scenes and the matchgoing supporters for the love they’ve shown him since joining the club from Gallants. 

"From the stuff, the mothers in the kitchen that prepares food for us the grounds man of rand and Orlando to the ever faithful center fans and the people behind the team you'll forever be a part of me thank you all that has supported me throughout and for my mates, I love you and you know the story it was nice. I wish you nothing but the best, you know the story that once and always," concluded the 30-year-old.

Some of Ndlondlo's best moments in a Pirates jersey came during his first season, the 2022/23 campaign, where he made 24 appearances in all competitions and won his first bit of silverware with the club, the Nedbank Cup and MTN8.
