The 31-year-old is now eligible to sign for any club of his choosing after Qatar SC decided against extending his contract. The Witbank native signed with the Qatari Stars League outfit at the beginning of the year after leaving the Club of the Century.
Although brief, Tau’s impact was considerable, as he managed to amass four assists in the nine league matches he played for his new club. Now, however, he will have to find a new team — and one that is believed to be keen on signing him is his former side’s great rivals.

The winger is not the only former Ahly star understood to be of interest to the five-time African champions, as the same report claims that Mohamed Sherif is also high on Zamalek’s transfer wish list.
