The story

One of South Africa's most pivotal football figures turns 80 today, 16 October, and local football fraternity from fans to clubs and players have taken time to honour Dr. Kaizer Motaung.

In a Kaizer Chiefs article commemorating his birthday, "Chincha Guluva" was rightfully hailed as a legend, pioneer, and leader. Not only did he establish one of Africa's biggest clubs in 1970, but he also played a pivotal role in shaping the local football scene as we know and enjoy it today.

A passage from the article reads, "Today, we honour you, our Chairman, Bra K, Chincha Guluva – a true icon of football in Africa. We are blessed to have you as our leader and father. Your hard work, passion, dedication, and vision have inspired millions around the world, and your legacy will continue to shine brightly for many years to come." 

"On behalf of the entire Kaizer Chiefs family, we wish you a very happy 80th birthday. Here's to many more years of health, happiness, and success!"
