The story

Mamelodi Sundowns have it all to do in Sunday's CAF Champions League (CAF CL) final, second leg away to Egypt's Pyramids FC in Cairo.

The first leg last Saturday saw Downs conceding late to see the match end 1-1, with the return leg needing Miguel Cardoso's charges to win or draw 2-2 or higher, while a 1-1 result will take the match to penalties.

As Masandawana gear up for their date with destiny in Cairo, chasing what will be their second CAF CL crown, the camp took time to celebrate coach Cardoso and fullback Divine Lunga's birthdays on Wednesday, 28 May.

The team was already making its way to North Africa and found a way to celebrate both Lunga and Cardoso with some champagne in the plane.

"Yesterday, I celebrated a special birthday! All day flight from Johannesburg to Cairo to play the second leg of the CAF Champions League final.

"On the stop for fuel in Rwanda, we took time to celebrate together with Divine Lunga and share love with everybody on board!" wrote Cardoso in his IG post of their mile-high birthday party.

Cardoso's post featured a snap of him and the Zimbabwe international holding a glass of champagne, toasting to doing another lap around the sun.

"Far from my family but with family! Thank you for all the messages and best wishes that I received. [It is] Wonderful to feel love. Let’s live and celebrate life every day!" added Cardoso.
