The story
Ex-Bafana Bafana defender Bongani Khumalo shared a message of support to his former SuperSport United teammate, Sipho Mbule, after the talented midfielder was revealed as a Buccaneer.
Pirates shook the South African football fraternity on Tuesday by announcing the acquisition of midfielder Mbule as the club's first confirmed new signing ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old, affectionately known as "MasterChef", was picked up on a free transfer by Pirates after being recently released by Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mbule spent the past season at Sekhukhune United on loan after struggling for game time at Masandawana. He joined the Tshwane giants in 2022, having previously played for Matsatsantsa.
MasterChef shared a changeroom with a host of SuperSport United legends, including four-time PSL top-flight league winner, Bongani Khumalo, who took to Instagram to congratulate Mbule on the move to Bucs.
"Got all the talent in the world! Please make this move work, brother! Head down! Put in the work! Make us go wow again!" wrote Khumalo on his IG story, resharing Pirates' Mbule signing announcement.
Mbule's ex-teammates at Sundowns and fellow midfielders, Teboho Mokoena, Neo Maema, Bongani Zungu and Aubrey Modiba all wished him well on his big move to the Soweto giants.
