The story
PSL and Bafana Bafana greats Itumeleng Khune, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Siyabonga Nomvethe led a team of South African Legends at the Botswana-hosted Clash of Legends exhibition tourney over the weekend.
The South African (SA) legends team, which also included Kaizer Chiefs ex-defenders Cyril Nzama and Derrick Spencer, triumphed in Botswana, beating the hosts in the Clash of Legends final, and winning the four-team tournament that included their neighbours, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The tournament played at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown saw SA beat Willard Katsande's Zimbabwe in the semi-finals, while Botswana came out on top against Namibia.
In the final, it was the Mzansi legends who ran out as 4-1 winners, thanks to goals from Nzama, Shabba and a brace from Katlego Mashego.
Other SA football heroes of yesteryear, such as Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Dikgang Mabalane, Lucky Lekgwathi, and Happy Jele, all posted snapshots from the fun weekend, where they turned back the clock to relive the thrill of competing.
