The story
Amakhosi's speedy forward, Ashley du Preez, is officially engaged to his significant other, Mel Martin, after going down on one knee at her birthday party.
Both du Preez and Mel took to their Instagram stories yesterday to post the video of the ex-Stellenbosch FC man proposing in front of a heart-shaped rose sculpture and a neon sign that read, "Will you marry me?"
The couple was surrounded by friends and family at what appeared to be a rooftop venue, where they also gathered to celebrate Mel's birthday on Wednesday.
Du Preez captioned his video, "The best decision I've ever made", with Mel sharing, "The best gift! I'm marrying my best friend."
