The story
22-year-old Orlando Pirates right-back Siyabonga Ndlozi is using his time off due to the FIFA International Break to good use after launching his foundation at his alma mater in Durban on Tuesday.
Ndlozi, who has ten appearances for the Buccaneers since his debut against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League in January, conducted a charity drive at KwaManzini Primary School in KwaNdengezi, near Pinetown, outer-west Durban.
The Siya Ndlozi Foundation donated Toughees school shoes to the learners in need at their launch event, seeing the baller inspire the children in his interactions with them.
The Golden Arrows youth product's foundation shared a video and a gallery of snaps from the event, which also saw the Marianhill Orlando Pirates Supporters branch in attendance.
"The Siya Ndlozi Foundation, through one of its objectives, which is Youth Empowerment through Education and Skills Development, has managed to donate school shoes to disadvantaged learners," read a statement from Ndlozi's Foundation, adding:
"This is to ensure that no pupil misses classes because of not own a pair of shoes. By choosing his alma mater as the venue, Ndlozi demonstrated his commitment to giving back to his community and supporting the next generation."
