Chiefs Continue Diski Winning Form

Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 Swallows

Kaizer Chiefs won their fifth game in six matches after thrashing Swallows 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at FNB Stadium.

The Soweto giants were not in action last week after their clash with Richards Bay was postponed, but they the picked up a big win against their Soweto rivals.

Chiefs could not go further than fifth spot on the table, with two games in hand while the Birds were left languishing third-from-bottom.

Stellenbosch 2-2 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates dropped points for the third consecutive game after they were held in a four-goal thriller by Stellenbosch on Sunday morning at Idas Valley Sports Ground.

The sides went to the break goalless before Relebohile Ratomo sent Pirates ahead on 66 minutes but Stellies found the equaliser with 13 minutes to go.

Mpumelelo Ndaba restored the lead for the Buccaneers three minutes later but the hosts snatched the equaliser with three minutes left to play.

Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 Sekhukhune United

Mamelodi Sundowns won back-to-back matches after edging Sekhukhune United 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at TUT Stadium.

The Brazilians remained seventh on the table while Sekhukhune were also unchanged in ninth place.

SuperSport United 2-1 Maritzburg United

SuperSport United extended their lead at the top of the log to four points after edging Maritzburg United 2-1 on Sunday morning at TUT Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Jabu Matsio eventually broke the deadlock for SuperSport on the hour-mark but Maritzburg equalised five minutes later.

However, Thabang Mahlangu found the winner for Matsatsantsa three minutes later, to give them their ninth consecutive win.

Richards Bay 2-1 Cape Town City

Second-placed Cape Town City could not keep up with leaders SuperSport United after they narrowly lost 2-1 against Richards Bay on Sunday morning at Mpumalanga Stadium.

Mfundu Ngema and Siphephile Buthelezi scored the goals for the Natal Rich Boyz in the second stanza.

Golden Arrows 2-1 TS Galaxy

Golden Arrows won their second game in three matches after edging TS Galaxy 2-1 on Saturday morning at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Samkelo Mzolo broke the deadlock for Arrows ten minutes before the interval and Daya levelled matters for Galaxy early in the second stanza.

However, Siyanda Mthanti got the clinching goal for Abafana Bes'thende on 66 minutes.
