Chiefs Back To Winning Ways, Pirates Remain Top

Chippa United 1-3 Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates maintained top spot in the DStv Diski Challenge after cruising to a 3-1 win over Chippa United on Saturday morning at Woodson Stadium.

Njabulo Mndebele gave Pirates an early lead with a strike from outside the box and Mpumelelo Ndaba gave the visitors a two-goal cushion just from the interval after he finished off a cross by Mndebele.

Chippa pulled a goal back on 65 minutes but Mohau Nkota settled the tie for the Buccaneers just two minutes later from a moment of individual brilliance, as Joseph Makhanya's charges won their fifth game in a row.

Sekhukhune United 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs won their third game in four matches after edging Sekhukhune United 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

The win took Chiefs up to fifth on the table with a game in hand while Sekhukhune dropped down to eighth on the log.

Mamelodi Sundowns 1-1 Swallows

Mamelodi Sundowns extended their unbeaten run to three matches after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Swallows on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns remained in seventh spot on the table while Swallows were left languishing in 12th place.

SuperSport United 2-1 Marumo Gallants

SuperSport United won their sixth game in a row after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants on Sunday morning at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Gallants went to the break with a 1-0 lead but SuperSport turned things around courtesy of second-half goals by Thabang Makhubo and Shandre Campbell.

Golden Arrows 1-3 Stellenbosch

Second-placed Stellenbosch returned to winning ways after a resounding 3-1 win over Golden Arrows on Sunday morning at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Simthandile Sishi, Molahlehi Khunyedi and Roy-Keane Avontuur all scored in the first stanza to give Stellies a commanding lead just after the half-hour mark.

Sabelo Duma pulled a goal back for Arrows shortly before the interval but that proved to be a consolation goal.

Royal AM 2-3 Richards Bay

Nkosikhona Ndaba scored the winner for Richards Bay as they edged Royal AM on Saturday afternoon at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Royal AM broke the deadlock on 24 minutes but Sphephile Buthelezi found the equaliser for the Natal Rich Boyz just three minutes later.

Thulani Gumede gave Richards Bay the lead within a minute from the break but Thwihli Thwahla levelled matters four minutes later.

Ndaba eventually snatched the winner for the Natal Rich Boyz with 11 minutes to go.
