Chiefs Suffer Back-To-Back Humiliating Losses

Orlando Pirates 0-1 Swallows

Orlando Pirates' title chances were dented after a narrow 1-0 defeat against Swallows on Sunday morning in the Soweto derby at Rand Stadium.

Pirates missed a host of chances before Swallows broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark courtesy of Thabo Tsilo.

The early stages of the second stanza were an open contest, with opportunities on both ends but the Buccaneers had the momentum in the closing phase, as the Birds were reduced to ten men with three minutes to go after Senzelumusa Sibiya got a second booking and was dismissed.

Joseph Makhanya's charges fell five points behind leaders SuperSport United in third spot on the table, with three matches to go.

Stellenbosch 5-2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs suffered a heavy defeat for the second time in a week after a 5-2 crushing by Stellenbosch on Sunday afternoon at Idas Valley Stadium.

Chiefs were hammered 6-3 by TS Galaxy last week and although they redeemed themselves with a 5-0 thumping of Maritzburg in midweek in their game in hand, they were humiliated again by Stellies.

Amakhosi went to the break only 1-0 down but they conceded four more goals in the second stanza, as Stellenbosch ran riot, with Mervin Boji scoring all five goals for them.
