Zane Moosa Confident Downs Experience Will Help In Congo

Mamelodi Sundowns legend, Zane Moosa, believes that The Brazilians are better equipped to beat AS Vita, now that they are playing in the newly revamped Stade Tata-Raphael.

We All Need To Support Sundowns!

Pitso Mosimane's men come up against an in form AS Vita side that last tasted defeat in October in their domestic competition in what will prove to be a tough test. Moosa recalls when his Sundowns team of the 1990s travelled to Congo and described the difficult conditions.

"I remember (playing in Congo)," he told Soccer Laduma. "It was tough conditions and I even remember a training session before the game where they stole our bus! The Stadium was packed (on that matchday) and they scored two penalties, then missed one… the pitch wasn't in good (condition)…"

Moosa does believe, however, that in the new stadium, Sundowns will not be tested as badly as his old teammates were, before saying that an away goal would drastically improve their chances of qualifying for the next round.

"If they're playing in the new stadium, it will make things much better. The fans there (in Congo), they passionate and it can be intimidating, but they (Sundowns) have got the experience now," he continued.

"The important thing is for them not to concede too many and obviously to try and score an away goal, even if they lose by a narrow margin. Anything that will give them better chances at home in the return leg (will be good)."

Mosimane: We Need All The Players At This Time
