Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, William Shongwe, has praised his former club's approach against ASEC Mimosas in their 0-0 draw in the Ivory Coast, despite their elimination from the CAF Champions League.
Mimosas Oust Chiefs After Goalless Draw
After losing 1-0 to Mimosas at home, Chiefs needed a win to go through to the next round, but the man known affectionately as "Cool Cat" believes that their approach suited the nature of the game.
"(Trying to score) is what they did here at home. But they also attacked and defended well away. They changed the approach and it worked for them," Shongwe explained.
Cool Cat added that the Amakhosi's performance was good on their travels and that they adapted their style away from home.
"You know when you play at home you want to attack and score goals and away teams sit back to defend and wait for a counter-attack," he explained.

Following their loss in the overall tie, Chiefs can now only challenge for the Absa Premiership title, which is a mammoth task as they trail league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, by 13 points with seven games to go this season.
