Halfway through last season, Krunoslav Jurcic took charge of Pyramids FC and went on an extraordinary winning streak. In his first 33 matches across all competitions, he secured 24 wins and suffered just three defeats, leading the club to its first-ever trophy by capturing the Egyptian Cup.
This campaign, he has continued his fine form in Cairo. Jurcic’s side are currently two points behind league leaders Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League with one match remaining. They have also reached the final of the Egyptian Cup once again — where they will face Zamalek — and this weekend, they will play the first leg of the CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns, as he looks to complete a historic treble.
Before arriving in the Egyptian capital, Jurcic managed Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb — the country’s most successful club — where he took part in UEFA Europa League campaigns. He also previously led Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al Nassr.
Despite his achievements in both European and Asian football, the 55-year-old has stated that the showdown against Ka Bo Yellow will be the most significant match he has overseen in his career.
