The green and black-clad outfit of Congo took a 1-0 lead in the home-leg of their encounter, with the goal coming courtesy of a last minute strike by, Kule Mbombo.
The result of the encounter in Kinshasa has massive permutations for the Chloorkop based outfit, if they are to progress in this year's Champions League.
*These permutations are seen from a Mamelodi Sundowns point of view.
DRAW:
A goalless or a score draw will see the Brazilians being eliminated from the competition.
WIN:
1-0: This score-line would force the game into extra-time, with both sides having scored a goal at home.
2-0: This score-line is seen as the ideal result and would see the Chloorkop based outfit progress to the following round of the intercontinental tournament.
2-1: If Sundowns were to be victorious by this score-line, they would be eliminated by the virtue of their opponents having scored one away goal, as opposed to the Brazilians' two home goals.
If Sundowns secure a victory, whereby they score two or more goals, without allowing their opponents to score a goal, they would progress, however, if AS Vita manage to score an away goal, it would mean that the Absa Premiership log-leaders would have to score three goals or more to secure their passage to the next round of the Champions League.
The Brazilians face AS Vita tonight at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with the game being scheduled for 19h30.
