Ernest Mtawali Warns Sundowns Of AS Vita Threat

Following their victory against AC Leopards, Mamelodi Sundowns will face a "great test" in their opponents in the next round of the CAF Champions League, according to Ernest Mtawali.

Former Sundowns midfielder, Ernest Mtawali, who is now Malawi's national team coach, has praised Sundowns' performances, but has also warned against complacency.

"Sundowns have shown that they want to go far in the Champions league this time and Vita is a great test for them," he told the Siya crew.

He went on to say that qualification for the group stages will be very important for Sundowns, who are looking to achieve success outside of domestic competitions.

"If they win against Vita they will qualify for the group stages which is very important for the team. But this is a big test for the team," Mtawali concluded.

The Brazilians will take on AS Vita in their first leg of the final qualifying round of the CAF Champions League on the weekend of 8-10 April.
