Denis Onyango Still In Congo After Security Issues

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Denis Onyango, is currently stranded in Congo with security issues keeping the goalkeeper in the country.

Sundowns' Return From Congo Delayed

A source close to the Ugandan has revealed that a breakdown in communication has prevented the shot-stopper from returning to his home country.

"The only way he can get out of Congo is to get a bus to neighbouring Central African Republic before he can go to Uganda.

"You know the other problem is that communication has also been jammed due to security reasons, " the source said.

The source further added that, however, Onyango will eventually be able to return in time for Uganda's Afcon qualifier against Burkina Faso.

"I think that in the end he will eventually leave and join his national team as they prepare for the Afcon 2017 qualifiers against Burkina Faso but for now he is stranded in Congo," the source said.

The Remarkable Emergence Of Downs' CBD

The rest of the Sundowns team that travelled to Congo will return to South Africa today (Tuesday, March 22), according to the club's official Twitter account.

Onyango has made 49 appearances for Uganda since making his debut in 2005, and should once again lead The Cranes in their Afcon qualifier against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on Saturday, March 26.
