The Zimbabwean outfit was eliminated from the Champions League by Downs, with Pitso Mosimane's side earning a 2-1 aggregate victory in February, before the Chloorkop side was booted out of the competition by DRC's AS Vita Club.
During their game, Chicken Inn players remonstrated with the referee in protest against the penalty awarded to Sundowns, which resulted in Katlego Mashego's winning goal.
Reports in Zimbabwe stated that the club has since been slapped with a fine by CAF as punishment for their actions. This hasn't been the only drama suffered by Downs' African opposition. Yesterday, Downs' CAF Confederation Cup opponents Medeama SC announced that their Swedish coach, Tom Strand, has been reported to the South African Police for going AWOL, after their game with Downs on Saturday.
