AmaZulu Captain Makhehleni Makhaula says his side are not just in the CAF Champions League group stages to add the numbers after being drawn in a tricky group.
Usuthu's maiden CAF Champions League campaign hasn't been without its challenges. En route to the group stages, the KZN outfit had to overcome Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
Now, having made it to the group stage of the competition, Usuthu will have to overcome the likes of ES Setif, Horoya AC and Raja Club Athletic if they are to progress in the tournament, something they are well capable of doing according to the club's skipper.
"It's a really tough group but I think our technical team will prepare us nicely and strong," Makhaula told the media.
Usuthu will kick off their campaign against reigning champions Raja Casablanca on 11 February, the first of their two journeys up north, something that will prove to be an exciting new experience for a number of players in the KZN outfit's camp.
"We are playing against two teams from North Africa and it's going to be a good experience for us. It's going to be good for South African football and for the people of KwaZulu Natal, our supporters. It's a difficult group but we are going there to compete and not add numbers," he continued.
