Speaking to Soccer Laduma in issue 968, the former Bafana Bafana man, insisted that the Brazilians' Congolese opponents are no match for the current Absa Premiership log-leaders.
"There is little doubt with regards to Sundowns getting a comfortable win over AS Vita,"
"Vita is not a challenging team to play against and they are not on the level of TP Mazembe, a far stronger team that Sundowns has already overcome," Bapela told Soccer Laduma.
Sundowns will host the return leg of the fixture at Lucas Moripe Stadium this evening as they look to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
Bapela even said that if Downs' CAF opponents were to play in the PSL, they would compete in the lower half of the log, however he did highlight their experience in the continental showdown as their biggest strength.
"If AS Vita were playing here in South Africa, they would certainly find themselves battling in the lower half of the table."
"Vita's only advantage is their experience of playing in the Champions League consistently, nothing more," he concluded.
The Brazilians face AS Vita at the Lucas Moripe Stadium tonight with the game scheduled for 19h30.
