Itumeleng Khune's injury and exclusion from Bafana Bafana as a result, has allowed his closest rival, Orlando Pirates' number one goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, to fill the enormous boots vacated by 'Itu'.

Meyiwa has more than taken over the role left by Khune, right down to assuming the leadership role and being justifiably awarded the captain's armband by Bafana mentor, Shakes Mashaba.
On the field of play and in-between the sticks is where Meyiwa has entranced the nation and silenced his critics.
In the last five fixtures for Bafana Bafana, Meyiwa has kept four clean sheets compared to Khune's two in his past five matches for the national squad.
Meyiwa who has really come into his own in Shakes Mashaba's new-look Bafana Bafana squad, has dominated in the 2015 CAF African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He began his campaign with a clean sheet as Bafana travelled to Khartoum to face Sudan in the opener of their AFCON qualifiers. He followed that impressive display with another clean sheet against Nigeria in the second qualifier, something South Africa has never been able to achieve as the Super Eagles have dominated South Africa over the years.
The Super Eagles netted two goals past Khune in last year's Nelson Mandela Challenge, further compounding the nation's miseries by scoring another three goals in this year's edition of the African Nations Championships (CHAN 2014), though Bidvest Wits' Moeneeb Josephs featured in that fixture.
The Bucs' number one was further on hand to deny Congo Brazzaville scoring opportunities, ensuring that Bafana walk away with the victory which has taken South Africa to the summit of Group A with seven points.
Meyiwa's other clean sheet in national colours came in the form of a 2-0 victory against Swaziland late last year.
Meanwhile, his compatriot, Khune, has conceded three goals in the last five games he's played for Bafana with only clean sheet against Burkina Faso in the 2-0 win, and the memorable 1-0 victory over Spain in 2013.

This suggests that Meyiwa has 360 minutes of international football where he has not conceded, whereas Khune has 270 minutes in past internationals where he has kept clean sheets.
