Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has suggested that the national team has a problem when it comes to finding a successor for Themba Zwane after admitting that even Lyle Foster could not fill his role adequately.
Zwane, 34, was withdrawn from the squad that faced Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo with a concussion injury he picked up in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg against Kaizer Chiefs prior to the Bafana camp.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has previously said a number of times in his press conferences that South Africa will struggle to have a player like 'Mshishi' and Broos echoed his sentiments after admitting that they could not find a solution to having a number ten like Zwane.
The Belgian explained that he tried to play striker Lyle Foster in that position but it did not work out the way he wanted.
"We knew that we had a little problem because Themba Zwane is not there, so we needed to find a solution. I can't say it was bad with Foster, with Zakhele (Lepasa)," Broos said in a press conference.
"But I can't also say it was good, so we need to be prepared for that because it can happen in the next games that you have that problem.
"We're looking for somebody there on that position. We thought 'okay if there is somebody here in the group maybe Lyle can do it'. You can't blame him that we didn't see what we wanted to see. It's not his position," he said.
"We were just trying that maybe with him we might have the solution but it's not really the solution, not at all," he added.
Bafana will be in action again next month when they host Eswatini and travel to Ivory Coast in international friendlies before the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.
